We are founding contributors to the InsightToolkit (ITK) for Medical Image Analysis, funded through the NationalLibrary of Medicine. This project is an offshoot of the VisibleHuman Project, and is an open-source effort to develop segmentation andregistration algorithms for medical image analysis.

Our lab has contributed the following to ITK:

• Analysis of medial dimensionality using core atoms & blox
• 3D ultrasound image reader
• Spatial function hierarchy
• Conditional iterators, specifically the flood-fill
