Chimera is our in-house development environment that leverages several open-source toolkits to perform analysis of medial dimensionality on medical images. Specifically, we use: The procedure for connecting these three toolkits together is fairly well documented in ITK. Specifically, look at the ThinPlateSplines example. Below, you can see several screen shots of Chimera in action. Want to know what you're looking at? Read: G. Stetten, S. Pizer, "Medial Node Models to Identify and Measure Objects in Real-Time 3D Echocardiography," IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Vol. 18, No. 10, pp 1025-1034, Oct. 1999.With the exception of the interface and some of the newer work, all of the functionality described in the paper is implemented directly in ITK and is available through anonymous CVS. An early (05/2002) version of Chimera. VTK let's you take arbitrary slices through a volume. Cool! A more recent (08/2002) version showing the FLTK interface. |
